|I have used them in wooded areas. When the foliage is up, the range is
|horrible. WHen the leaves fall, the range is extended greatly. You're
|closer to the reality.

Yes foilage and UHF frequencies do not make happy partners. Even VHF
frequencies can be greatly effected by trees.
